The ASPIRE initiative was recently featured in an article in the Winter 2014 issue of the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities Magazine. The article, which was written by Becca Bauer, provides a history of the initiative, describes the self-determination curriculum which is at the heart of the initiative, and documents the on-going collaboration between the Georgia Council for Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) and the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) that has been essential in supporting the development and implementation of this exciting student-led Individualized Education Program initiative.
The article also highlights students, teachers, and schools that are involved in the ASPIRE initiative. The article is available at http://issuu.com/gcdd/docs/gcdd-mag-winter-2014f/1?e=2083001/6343456.
