Transition teams from fifteen school districts and the three Georgia Department of Education’s State Schools will be participating in the College and Career Readiness Initiative’s Transition Institute on September xx- xx, 2013 at Calloway Gardens. These teams will participate in sessions that address important transition practices in a variety of areas including conducting transition assessments, developing compliant and quality transition plans, and implementing evidence-based transition practices. Sessions will be conducted by GaDOE staff from the Division for Special Education Services and Supports and the Division of Standards Based Learning (Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education) as well as presenters from the National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center (NSTTAC).
This training will provide participants with information needed to implement compliant and high quality transition practices within their districts. The district transition teams will receive follow-up professional learning, coaching, and resources on a monthly basis from the College and Career Readiness Specialists funded through Georgia’s SPDG. Districts will collect and submit fidelity of implementation and outcome data to the GaDOE.
