In Principles of Business, Marketing, and Finance, students gain knowledge and skills in economies and private enterprise systems, the impact of global business, the marketing of goods and services, advertising, and product pricing.

Students analyze the sales process and financial management principles. This course allows students to reinforce, apply, and transfer academic knowledge and skills to a variety of interesting and relevant activities, problems, and settings in business, marketing, and finance.

This binder does not contain all lesson plans for this course. This content can be used with any textbook or instructional materials. If locally adapted, make sure all TEKS are covered. Scope and Sequence. A brief description of each unit and the corresponding TEKS are included.

This scope and sequence may be adapted or adopted by the local education agency. Lesson plans are currently not available. Review the scope and sequence document and TEKS.

You can download the optional blank lesson plan template provided here, to locally develop a new lesson plan, consistent with the others provided in the Texas CTE Resource Center.

If after developing a new lesson plan, you would like the TEA to consider adding it to the resource library for colleague teachers to also use in the future, attach the lesson plan and any supplemental instructional materials through the form here, for consideration. Lesson Plan: Forms of Business Ownership. In this lesson, students will learn to describe and contrast different forms of business ownership. In this lesson, the students will learn to identify organizational and managerial structures of business, as well as levels and functions of management.

In this lesson, students will learn to recognize how changing economic conditions, business ethics, and social responsibility impact businesses. Lesson Plan: Marketing Goods and Services. In this lesson, the students will explain strategies to meet the needs and wants of consumers, and describe strategies for marketing goods and services. In this lesson, the student will learn about the role of supply and demand in a private enterprise system. This lesson provides an overview of how prices are determined in a private enterprise system and includes student activities.

Lesson Plan: Advertising Media. In this lesson, the students will learn and understand that Advertising is a paid-for form of communication. The students will also learn about different types of media used in advertising. Lesson Plan: Company Income Statements. In this lesson, students will determine factors of production, work on an income statement, calculate net income, and differentiate between fixed and variable costs.

This lesson introduces students to the economic decision process. In this lesson, students will be expected to analyze various scenarios to determine the causes of various decisions.

Lesson Plan: World Market Economy. In this lesson, the students will differentiate between the types of economic systems with emphasis on the private enterprise system and the United States economy. Lesson Plan: Foreign Exchange Market. In this lesson, students will explain how a foreign exchange market functions globally, and identify the importance of international financial markets.

Review the scope and sequence document. One or more lesson plans are currently not available. This lesson explains the private enterprise system, the role of producers, and the concept of productivity. Students will design, illustrate, and develop a power point about the production and marketing process. In this lesson, students will learn the importance of the retailers in the private enterprise system, as well as the types of retailers available to consumers.

Lesson Plan: Discovering Economic Systems. In this lesson, students learn to differentiates between the types of economic systems with emphasis on the private enterprise system and the United States economy. Lesson Plan: Foundation of International Business. In this lesson, the student will define domestic and international business and explain the impact of global dependency on the United States economy.

Lesson Plan: Role of Government in Business. In this lesson, the students learn to identify the role and impact of government, the legal system and organized labor in business. Lesson Plan: Role of Organized Labor. This lesson focuses on the role and impact of government, the legal system, and organized labor in business. Students will participate in discussions and independent practice. Lesson Plan: Impact of Productivity.

In this lesson, the student investigates the impact of productivity on product cost. Lesson Plan: Advertising to Target Audiences.

This lesson demonstrates how to effectively advertise and communicate promotional messages to targeted audiences. In this lesson, the students will learn and understand how to use special event promotions to increase sales.

Lesson Plan: Learning About the Competition. In this lesson, students will explore information needed in regards to business competitors that allow them to gain marketing intelligence. Lesson Plan: Financial Planning in Business. In this lesson, the student will learn to recognize important financial questions that must be answered in a business and explain essential financial statements.

This lesson helps students gain a basic understanding of the different types of financial exchanges available and how this applies in their current lives as well as in their future. In this lesson, students will learn to prepare an individual income tax return, and the various deductions and exemptions associated with taxes. Our Principles of Business, Marketing, and Finance online high school course provides the knowledge and skills students need for careers in business and marketing. Students begin exploring roles and functions that business and marketing play in a global society, develop an understanding of the market place, as well as understanding product placement and promotion. Students analyze the impact of government, legal systems, and organized labor on business; develop an understanding of business communications and management; and explore legal, ethical, and financial issues in business and marketing.
